Drag and Drop Your Art to the Virtual World

Naoto Hiéda is a creative coder who uses Glitch to experiment with new project ideas, many of which have social elements and use graphics and VR frameworks like p5 and A-Frame. One of his projects is P Code Land, a virtual space to type messages that make their own unique sound and listen to other sounds that people made, too.

Another project from Naoto is Virtual Exhibition which is a social virtual space where anyone can come in and drop in their images. “I program as my artistic practice,” Naoto explained. “Virtual Exhibition resembles an art gallery; however, everyone can drag and drop an image to upload and to exhibit on this online gallery. This flips the hierarchy of the conventional art market and questions what the authenticity of artwork is.”

Virtual Exhibition was also the first app that Naoto boosted when he became a Glitch member. “I boosted this project to keep it available 24/7,” he said. “As it is part of my portfolio, having no downtime is important. Also, as I store images on the server side, I wanted to have a bigger storage.”
